How will I be supporting the work of the Trust?
You will help deliver a professional surveying service that supports the Trust’s Asset Management Strategy and ensures our homes and buildings remain safe, compliant and well-maintained. You will learn and develop technical expertise to  contribute directly to high-quality housing services, customer safety and improving the condition and long-term sustainability of our property portfolio. You will also play a key role in ensuring our customers—many of whom have additional needs—receive a responsive, accessible and safe service.
 
What does this involve?
• Providing technical advice to colleagues, tenants and contractors.
• Carrying out stock condition, maintenance, damp and mold and measured surveys.
• Diagnosing defects, recommending solutions and producing specifications and tender documents.
• Completing inspections, supporting major works and reviewing invoices/certification.
• Ensuring housing, building and safety compliance and securing required permissions for works.
• Working with external partners such as insurers, fire officers and care providers.
• Supporting customer-focused service delivery, considering tenant needs and disabilities.
• Contributing to policy reviews, service improvements and data analysis.
• Following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
• Taking part in the out-of-hours Duty Officer rota and maintaining personal CPD.
 
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who:
• Has an understanding of, and is keen to develop and learn more about housing maintenance, construction, building regulations, CDM and health & safety.
• Has experience of in site inspections, contract administration and compliance areas (e.g. asbestos, fire, legionella).
• Has excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Has the ability to work collaboratively and manage a busy workload.
• Has good IT skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook and housing systems.
• Has an understanding of tenant needs, particularly in supported or independent living environments.
• Has a proactive, customer-focused approach with commitment to high standards.
• We are happy to consider people have the potential to develop their skills to meet the full person specification for the role.
