How will I be supporting the work of the Trust?

You will play a key leadership role in supporting the Trust to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused Housing service. You will lead and develop the frontline Housing Management Team, ensuring residents receive effective support while helping to build sustainable tenancies, thriving communities and financially sustainable services.

Fixed term contact until November 2027

What does this involve?

  • Leading and developing the Housing Team – supervising, supporting and mentoring Housing Officers and the Tenancy Sustainment Officer, encouraging high standards, continuous development and effective performance.
  • Putting customers at the heart of the service – ensuring the Customer Charter and service standards are consistently delivered, responding to complaints and using customer feedback to improve services.
  • Supporting sustainable homes and communities – providing guidance on tenancy management, antisocial behaviour and tenancy sustainment, while working proactively to prevent failed tenancies and support resident independence.
  • Managing homes, income and resources effectively – overseeing voids and lettings, rent and service charge income, arrears and budgets, ensuring homes are re-let efficiently and services provide value for money.
  • Working collaboratively to improve outcomes – building strong relationships with residents, colleagues, local authorities and partner organisations, using performance information and shared learning to continually improve the Housing service.

Who are we looking for?

  • An experienced housing professional – with strong experience in social housing management, tenancy management and relevant legal processes, alongside an understanding of the needs of disabled and vulnerable residents.
  • A confident people leader and communicator – able to mentor, motivate and develop staff, build positive relationships with diverse customers and stakeholders, and communicate clearly and confidently, including in challenging situations.
  • An organised, solutions-focused performer – with strong decision-making and workload management skills, able to analyse data, produce reports, meet targets and maintain high-quality, customer-focused services in a changing environment. 
  • A values-led and inclusive leader – someone who shares Papworth Trust’s values, acts with integrity and accountability, and is committed to equality, diversity, inclusion and positive social change for disabled and vulnerable people.

Role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check
